OVERVIEW
Saadani National Park is the place where the beach meets the bush. The park is located approximately 100km North West of Dar es Salaam. This is the only park in Tanzania with Indian Ocean beachfront.
The historic triangle of Bagamoyo, Pangani and Zanzibar makes Saadani National Park most popular among visitors.
The park is the best place for visitors to spend relaxing hours of sunbathing and enjoying the wild view of elephants wandering or animals coming to drink water at the nearby water source. A boat trip on the island of Zanzibar adds more fascination to the trips.
The park harbours high concentration with a wide variety of wild animals and primates. Commonly seen animals include elephant, warthog, giraffe, wildebeest, common waterbuck, reedbuck, buffalo, Lichtenstein’s hartebeest, yellow baboon and vervet monkey. Lions and other predators are rarely seen.
The park is also famous for being home to the breeding site of green turtles. During boat trips on the Wami River visitors can encounter some of the hippos, crocodiles and a selection of water birds.
Saadani is the best choice for those who want island relaxation and safari excitement.
